Phantom Flame

As darkness falls
I think of you.
As dreams call
There you are.

On a stormy night
Like a bird in flight
There you are
A fleeting shadow of a nonexistent life

A flame flares
In a heart empty of cares.
It melts away
A icy heart of fear.

I hear a whisper,
But can not speak.
I hear a whimper,
And try to seek,
Your face. That’s
When your image dimmers.

Only a dream?
Make believe?
Or can our love truly
Flow as a stream?

Are you real?
Or a phantom sent to steal
The heart of dreaming girl?
This was inspired by a dream I had. I wasn't going to post it since it's not that great, but I needed to do something new and different today, so here it is!My new and different deed for the day! :boogie: :fingerscrossed:

I think it's pretty good. I've had to read famous poems that were just like "muffin, pickles, sauce, roastbeef." This so beats those poems I had to read in class. I especially like the phantom stealing the heart of the dreaming girl. Very romantic.
